Description Among a mile of pretty girls I used to know
I'd fall asleep and dream a blurred reflection in the snow
Was mine to keep, to hold in sleep before the morning sun
To twirl and cherish as my own

And so I keep the pictures in my head
Of some girl who let me in
And let a happy tale begin
Who refused to walk away
Refused to walk out in the fray
And leave the bombs and guns for me to take
Oh what fantasy to recreate
Someday

And then they'd slowly move along to morph as one
Until I saw that the ruthless slap of sunlight come
And splash the walls with day and wash my silly dreams away
Those dreams and pictures I did love

And so I keep the pictures in my head
Of some girl who let me in
And let a happy tale begin
Who refused to walk away
Refused to walk out in the fray
And leave the bombs and guns for me to take
Oh what fantasy to recreate
Someday

So full of youth I barely held it my hands
The time would slip away like sand
Oh how do the sirens of sleep tease me
What irony that when asleep my eyes would appease me
For her to open the door, to walk across her floors
To somewhere dark and deep and unknown

And so I keep the pictures in my head
Of some girl who let me in
And let a happy tale begin
Who refused to walk away
Refused to walk out in the fray
And leave the bombs and guns for me to take
Oh what fantasy to recreate
Someday

So full of youth I barely held it my hands
The time would slip away like sand
Oh how do the sirens of sleep tease me
What irony that when asleep my eyes would appease me
For her to open the door, to walk across her floors
To somewhere dark and deep and unknown
Oh what a fantasy to recreate
