Description I can claim nothing, for I've severed my hands
And my skin refuses to dry
I reach out with all of my might
But from there I refuse to try

And I think I meant to say, I want you to stay
Maybe I was too slow to react
Or maybe it's clear to see that which you set free
Rarely decides to come back

But still I loosen my grip
I'm gentle where nobody cares
I show love in ways nobody sees
I leave all these souls unaware

Does my altruism count for nothing?
But the satisfaction I satisfy myself
I can't change how I feel alone
It just feels like nothing without someone else
To pick up the pieces I shed in my efforts
To give a bit more than I take
A perpetual stream of support
So I won't be afraid when I break

And I think I meant to say, I want you to stay
Maybe I was too slow to react
Or maybe it's clear to see that which you set free
Rarely decides to come back

But still I let you go
Avoiding what nobody sees
Nobody knows my reason or foes
So by that, will no one know me?

Bury my plight back where it came from
And throw all the rest from the cliffs at dawn
Let my tears die silent if they may
But let everything else carry on
