I love how you made the pony blend so well into the background, but yet you made the character stand out perfectly~!
The expression of the pony looks VERY bleak, it adds a huge empty feeling into the work~!
And I love how the whole background has a very cold, and hazed appearance to it~!

How interesting.; it could be simply that my monitor is dark but I love how this is painted with such dark colors that my eyes have to adjust to it, slowly revealing more details over time.
Additionally, adding that bright star in the background is a great move, since it draws attention to the glint in her eye.
