Description
This is the Redux of this: [link]With the new Afro Samurai Resurrection out, I thought well since everyone loves the original I'd go and revamp it; since with the original I feel it has alot of glaring flaws and it was only my 3rd ever digital painting.
So heres the updated version, bout 5 hours.

Even if his view is far away from the seriousness of the original Afro Samurai, he looks absolutely perfect. The realism combined with the high contrast and all those small details is amazing.

on a side note, it's absolutely incredible that you can make things look that way without a referance.

His face is amazing, what or who did you use for a model? This is just a thought, but maybe his hair needs highlights or something? Because of the amazing detail and clarity in his face, the really dark hair almost needs something to pull it to the same level. Like.. his eyebrow has those slight bluish highlights, maybe that would work for the hair, too. Maybe i just don't know what i'm talking about.

I used a ref for part of this but the other part is made up. I added some subtle highlights but viewing this from a different monitor its hard to see, since im working with an uber bright laptop display, so basically they need to be more pronounced. And yes you know what your talking about sir.
