Description I get a lot of people asking me how I do my pieces, heres a basic run through hopefully the visual will help.

I usually start with a small concept usuall at 72 dpi, once i have it hammered out I up the resolution to 300 and and away i go.

As for layers and amounts I try to keep it minimal though I do make new layers and merge alot there are sometimes when I just have to keep a layer separate, usual for the purpose of a layer effect of some kind.

Now I'm no master of PS but this is generally how I do my pieces, there may be a faster easier way and if you have any ideas I'm more then interested to hear

Thank you all for the support and keep your eyes peeled for the Lawless comic/Graphic novel I am co writing and Illustrating with my pal

I've always wondered what app does he use to do this digital art?

Personally, I prefer the 3rd one down, but the finished result is excellent as well. Nice job .

Nice. I know that sometimes you'd like to get away from the dark colors, but pictures like your Afro Samurai are already showing that you are also good at drawing brighter works. Continue!

You should do a speedpainting demo and put it on youtube. Oh, have you heard of Chris Scalf by chance? His stuff is pretty crazy, and kinda reminds me of your stuff. You should check it out.

I think I liked it a little better when it still had the background trees. The overall concept is sick though. Thumbs up from me.
