The Rank Insignia of the Separatist Alliance, the Confederacy of Independent Systems rank was shown upon a version of the Separatist Hex Icon, their hexagon symbol. The lowest rank in the Separatist Battle Droid Army/ Separatist Organic Armies therefore was that of regular Battle Droids/ Organic Food Soldiers of the ranks of Private, if they did not follow an already existing independent local world, system, or sector army. The next rank was that of Squad Leader (Commerce Guild Punitive Forces) leading a squad of Six Gossam Security Force Commandos/ Sergeant (Corporate Alliance Police Administration Dorectorate) leading a squad of 12 Koorivar Fusiliers/ Muun Guard Sergeant (InterGalactic Banking Clan Collections and Security Division) leading a squad of 9 Muun Guards/ Battle Droid Officer (Techno Union Droid Army and Trade Federation Droid Army) leading a Battle Droid Company on 112 Battle Droids. Two of these corps together formed a Battle Droid Army comprising of 218,000 Battle Droids and support droids, the total surace force a single Lucrehulk-class battleship was capable of carrying, commanded by a Techno Union, or Trade Federation General, or Ship Captain. Corporate Alliance Police Administration Directorate Generals meanwhile lead a Regiment of 972 Koorivar Fusiliers plus support personal. Depending on the local world, system and sectors own army such ranks and numbers could differ widely but were more correctly ranked and reorganized when the Separatist Alliance grew into the Confederacy of Independent Systems throughout the Clone Wars, leading to shared, or equal ranks under a command structure created by General Grievous as the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Army and Navy. Simultaneously in the Separatist ship crews and navy, a Gunner (Gunenry Crew member) was placed under a Gunnery Officer who coordinated this weapon crews, making the Gunner and regular ship crew like engineers, technicians, mechanics, firefighters and others the basic ground Battle Droids. Pilots meanwhile could sometimes also be organics, especially if they were force-sensitive, or force-user Aces while next in line came Officer ranks, from the Communications Officer, Tactical Officer, Navigation Officer and Bridge Officer, who all were lead by a Ship Captain. Such Captains also served as Section Commanders and Commodores for Sections made up by 2 to 4 vessels, plus additional civil maintenance, fuel supply and support ships. Larger Flights of 4 to 16 vessels of 2 to 4 sections, plus additional civil maintenance, fuel supply and support ships were lead by a Flight Commander, or Flight Commodore, followed by Squadrons of 12 to 64 ships of 3 to 4 flights, plus additional civil maintenance, fuel supply and support ships lead by a Squadron Commodore. Task Groups made up of 36 to 640 vessels by 3 to 10 squadrons, plus additional civil maintenance, fuel supply and support ships were lead by a Rear Admiral, while Task Forces, made up of two of such Task Groups with 72 to 1,280 vessels are led by a Vice Admiral. Three of these Task Forces by 200 to 4,000 vessels, plus additional civil maintenance, fuel supply and support ships were lead by a Admiral.
