Just a little something I did a couple years back.We were required to create a portfolio website for our lecturer using Flash.
My first attempt using Flash.

its great,
but a little problem with trying to get the menu to pop up sometimes, can't really define the thick bars.

the setback is that it isn't user-friendly when you rollover, and you don't even know if you should roll over those

very well done! My only note would be that the interactive elements should be more obviously interactive. The bars just look like decoration and the words look like the stuff you click. of course, I do realize this is all still an experiment. Keep with it!

i know you've chosen to discourage critiques, but i feel it is pointless to post stuff in a public forum, if you are unwilling to accept people's thoughts. so i will, because i'm a rebel (a lie).
although i like this, being a self-proclaimed web designer, i don't find hidden menus practical. regardless, you mentioned it was created a while ago, and it looks nice, so i'll grant you that.
