I didn't go to the gathering. I just went as RD on Sat and Sun. I went as Ed Elric on Friday.
SacAnime Summer is from Aug 31st, Sept 1st-2nd at the same hotel [link]
They're changing locations in winter to Sacramento Convention Center.

I only saw the very end of the gathering. The stupid information desk told me the gathering was outside in the front And I was REALLY mad to find that they cancelled the MLP fan panel And my dad wouldn't let me go to the makeshift meet across the street because we had to eat lunch. He now feels bad for not letting me go.
I gota flyer for a convention coming up in August called Kin Yoobi Con in Newark/Fremont. I swear I've NEVER heard of this convention before. I think that's probably the second nearest convention to my home. I should go there since the fact that I only go to 4 cons a year and maybe my earliest debute in my full Rainbow Dash cosplay. I hope I'm not busy at that time

the gathering got moved because the original place was too small i was one of the winry's and ended up helping organize somehow i heard there was another mlp fan panel but i dunno. when i organize my cosplays per day, i go on the fanime forums to check when the gatherings are scheduled, and wear the corresponding costume on each day.
kin yoobi con is in my hometown i've never been, but i'm definitely going this year, because it's the closest to me! i didn't even hear of it until last year, and apparently this is the first year where it's being held in a hotel with proper events. so i'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out

I happened to find the gathering when I found my friend in that area.
I went to the Equestrian Embassy panel on Friday. I had the most fun in that panel I'm still bummed out that the panel on Sun was cancelled. A Pinkie Pie gave me a balloon to cheer me up
I might go to Kin Yoobi. My mom actually used to live in Fremont. I think I've been to that hotel where it's being held at before. My mom stayed there for a bit after she lost her apartment.....unless that was another hotel And Vic Mignogna will be at the convention! If I do go, it'll be my 3rd time meeting him
