it's summerand my world is turned upside down again
like an hourglass
telling me how much time i have left
showing me
that love is not a simple thing
like i always said it was
in summer
my life is split in two
with dual faces
light and dark
night and day
showing me
that shadows are rampant
and dusk is the same as dawn
one summer
i'll have to choose
light and dark
night and day
how much time will i need?
how many times must the hourglass turn?
before my soul compass points me down the right path
i cannot follow my heart
for it is split in two
divided
by a sandbar of conflicting love
emotions washing against it like waves from both sides
eventually the sandbar will be worn away
and the two oceans will merge
that sand in my hourglass will run out
and i will be out of time
before then
i'll have to choose
the light and dark
night and day
one or the other
how many more summers can this go on?
only the hourglass knows

It is beautiful, and reminds me of a girl sitting in the middle of a field picking the petals off a flower, then when she doesn't get the answer from one flower, stops at the last one without picking it and finds another flower.
