back in august, i had the honor or being the Yzma to 's Kuzco. after this event, i pretty much haven't worked on a cosplay since. i think it's because i reached the height of cosplay excitement. i've wanted to do yzma as a dream cosplay since i started the hobby, and i finally had the skill to do it. and G is pretty much the reason i started to cosplay as a regular hobby. to host a panel with him (especially in my dream cosplay) was a dream come true!!!! i don't think anything can top that.
the costume itself, now that is a whole different story. the pride and PAIN of this costume is the headdress. that thing is made using 4 bags of purple feathers. it is also extremely painful to wear. i had to leave the hour long panel halfway through because i was either going to throw up or pass out. before i wear this costume again, i need to fix how i attach it to my head. i managed to get past my body paint allergy by making a shirt out of a matching pair of tights to the ones i was using for my legs, and using sephora (>_<) cream eyeshadow for my face. i'm not happy about having to use the high end, expensive makeup, but cheaper eyeshadow makes me break out, plus powder wouldn't give me the color i needed.
still, over all a good experience. i learned new things about costuming, especially what my comfort zone and limits are when it comes to actually wearing a costume. my room is still coughing up purple feathers periodically as well the only thing i didn't make for this costume was the dress, which i got at Ross on clearance, the tights, and my sandals.
