I tire of it anyway. …very probably my tale was inspiration to Mary Shelley, though its death toll and dreary miseries were quite exaggerated by a morbid and easily excited female mind. I was not personally acquainted with her, but the public record of her behavior and associates gives me ground enough to make such a statement. Byron I knew better than I cared to, and of course Polidori, though I only spoke to him once. Also I knew Keats; knew and lamented him, for I strove mightily against the Red Death on his behalf, though I failed.”
The Promethean, aka Matteo Mancini creates -- or at least reanimates -- life. In the Ascension Epoch, word of the Promethean's experiments inspired Mary Shelley to write Frankenstein.
