Goofy is unwealthy and unsuccessful and well connected. In fact, he rarely does any outside work aside from chores around his house.
George Bank is the kind of man who likes the simple things in life, a high paying, business job, married to a woman who is all motherly and semi-childlike, two somewhat well-behaved, obedient children and no, i mean NO nonsense (fun, laughter, games, singing, dancing or stories) in his life. Goofy is more so-called laid back, loose and childlike, even in front of his own son. He likes everything easy, no matter how difficult it can be, especially for him. George is orderly, discipline, gruff and overworked, having no time whatsoever with his family, wife or children.

George: You sir don't seem to understand the importance when raising a family.
[Goofy laughs in all seriousness]
Goofy: well sir, I'm not sure you understand the importance of the bond between a father and a child.
[George raises his voice]
George: How dare you. I'm preparing my children for their future. There's simply no time for such nonsense. I don't need to explain my methods to one who knows nothing of disciplining a child.
[Goofy speaking softly]
Goofy: Well, I'm sorry you think that way. But If I were you, i would give discipline some thought before it drives my kid away from me.
