From Houston, Texas, Sam grew up on a horse ranch own by his family, and does what he can to take care of the horses. He was the first new Planeteer to be summoned. Sam provides much of the new team's comic relief with his southern demeanor and tendency to show off. In spite of that, he is a born leader, brave, encouraging, forceful and keeps the Planeteers in check.
