Three of Willy Wonka's worst rivals, Mr. Fickelgruber, Mr. Slugworth and Mr. Prodnose, were insanely jealous of Wonka's candy popularity. They sent spies to steal ingredients from Wonka's factory, which he plagiarized, nearly ruining Wonka. It is stated that Slugworth, Prodnose, or Fickelgruber would each give his false teeth to enter Wonka's inventing room (laboratory) for three minutes and steal the secret recipes to his treats.Related content

It's funny how in the original Slugwoth was bertending to be evil working for Wonka. In the 2005 movie he's his biggest enmie along with Fickelgruber and Prodnose. That's pretty cool.

To test their gullibility and greed.
According to Wonka, the other Golden Ticket were sent to be found by children and Mr. Wilkinson posed as a fake Slugworth to bribe the children bring him an Everlasting Gobstopper to him so he can pass it off as his own. But in truth, it was a test of loyalty, compassion and kindness, things Mr. Wonka expected in the children. in the end it was Charlie, returning the Gobstopper to Willy Wonka, proving himself to be unselfish, honest, and of course for a boy his age, "mature".

If the 2005 movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory " was an anime TV series , Ol' Fickelgruber will be voiced by Jess Harnell , Prodnose will be voiced by Eric Bauza , and Arthur Slugworth will be voiced by Maurice LaMarche only in my version of the English Dub.
