Description
"you've paid the piper..."The distant sounds of machinery hums
like a blindspot in the mind
Hovering over the discovered corpse
of a summer day.
Blanched skin and restless hands.
"Idle hands..."
It's the Devil's work, they say
But I can hear the traffic on Main Street
The simple bubble of a lighted fountain
like whitewater to the memory
floods in and it floods out
the ebb and flow of the day
"Smiles Lie..." She said
And I look up at the dusky skyline
of mid-day.
The sun hidden beneath the greyish
mist of winter's death
Hug myself tightly, pull the scarf up
to shield the bareness of my neck
"Just a flesh wound..." I laugh to myself
"It's funny how beautiful someone looks when they're walking out the door."

Unfortunately, I do everything wrong. But I've learned to write what I know.
