Description Here is the completed Paul. He was the most fun to do of them all, so far anyway. I enjoyed working on his eyes and expression. I don't like his teeth, but that's the way the picture I am working from has them, so they'll have to do...

Glad to be of assistance! I learned by trial and error.

As for creating depth, you can shape papers with various tools. I use a stylus and various gauges of knitting needles to create volume and dept. Some people hat told me thy use different gauges of wood dowels as well.

You can also use one layer of paper, but support it from underneath with various thicknesses of foam core or museum board. That will give you the depth, but save on the paper. Just cut the support a little smaller so you can't see it behind the paper.

I gather that's what you did with those trees in your Bahama picture? I've seen a lot of scenic photos before that I would love to do cutting of, with the dimension in them like that, they really come to life

That is exactly what I did. I wrapped the supports in the blue paper I used for the sky or the green of the foliage behind them so the supports disappeared.

Great job on his face and hands! The teeth kill me and the guitar is pretty sweet too.

Thanks! Still pondering those strings though.... May have to go back and add those later.... I'm figuring out, through trial and error, that some parts need to be more than one thickness of paper and show much more depth with two or more... As I play around with the different things I'm sure I'll get more accustomed... I really do appreciate your guidance on these things![link]
