And... here it is!
My hand almost fell off when I finished this but now it's better. It was great as a practice and reminded me the good old days of 100-Challenge. ^_^
For a very long time I've had a strong feeling like most people don't understand what introversion really means. Any time they see someone less social they think it's an introvert. There are many guides already, nice ones, made for people, not horses. But since I only know how to draw a silly children's cartoon (ok-ok, stop throwing stones at me, it's just a joke!) I had to use my little Eri again.
I still can't believe there wasn't a single carrot in the whole thing!
Um... yeah.
I thought about making that comic in one LOOOOOOONG piece but PS warned me that files over 30k pixels at one side may cause chaos and destruction to the peaceful world of Equestria. So I chopped it! Into 3 pieces. When the three heroes find them all, they must touch them and say "let our powers combine!". And... well, nothing will happen. NC will moan though.
Anyway, enjoy. I'll add some more thoughts under the last strip.

Nah, the problem is semantics. Words usually have more than one meaning, and people often disagree. Shy and introverted can mean the same thing to someone, and go try convince them of not being in the right.

Not exactly. To oversimplify, introverted people like to be with themselves. And then scomes someone loud, or someone who wants attention, or something. That's where problems start. Especially, when people don't get a hint and start bruteforcing themselves into your company.

They mean different things to those who invented them. Obviously it was someone who noticed it all. Like I did long before I heard the word "introvert" for the first time. So when I heard the description I thought "that's it! 30/30, now it all makes sense!". So yeah. Ice means snow for someone who doesn't care for the difference.
And that's why I decided to join those who try to explain the term. I'm not the first one to make comics about that but it doesn't make any less people around who would understand. Or rather who would care. Extravert doesn't mean stupid or rude but the tendency... They tend to care less. Which makes them say it's a silly excuse for being sociophobic. Just because they never faced the same problems. How would they know?

Speaking of meanings, I have a different definition of "extrovert" as well, but I will gladly let you keep yours.

All (often self-proclaimed) extroverts I met are deeply afraid of loneliness, and so surround themselves with as many people as possible. They will do everything they can to make you feel good and like them. "Rude" people usually have a few friends, for obvious reasons (exceptions are "funny" people, comedians always attract a crowd).

Which I explained with a term loner. Dashie has a way of making friends without being very kind. She would easily hurt Applejack in "Fall Weather Friends" not caring one bit for her feelings or fairness. She shows off and gathers attention. Being rude doesn't stop or punish her. The loss of attention is more critical to her than the loss of friends. Frankly, it's the pony farthest away from her element. She's loyal when she benefits from it.
My best RL friend is a strong extravert. He's very good at communicating with people. He easily makes friends. And that's why he never values them as much. He has too many. He would choose his own delusion over our friendship many times in the past. The only thing that keeps us "kinda friends" is that we've known each-other for 25 years. We've learned to not make conflict. The price is high. We have next to nothing in common. I realize how dumb it must sound to someone who doesn't know each of us well. Anyone would tell us we can't possibly spend any time together. Apparently, there's more to friendship than just benefits and common things. But that's much more subtle and isn't important for the topic.
So I can't say extraverts would do anything to make another person feel good. Social ones - maybe, at times. And I'm sure there are statistically more social extraverts. But I've seen ones that don't care one bit. The "fight club" type. They need action, conflict, drama, anything to fill them. But they couldn't care less about friendship in general. They suffer and make suffer and find joy in both. Such people often live off the Net. Those who come online become trolls. Social extraverts become bloggers and pro gamers. They also don't need friends, they get enough energy from the commotion around them. One hour allies. Guilds\clans. You wanna say they value relationship? Hardly. Not even family. Are they introverts? They cannot enjoy the time inside, they need an artificial structure of a program to feel like they matter. Introverts would rather enjoy offline games. A bit of help from outside to build a huge new world that only exists in their mind. A story, a set of new rules, conditions...
If something doesn't seem to work for you, tell me, I'll explain. I feel like it's that impression that I dislike extraverts or lower their value that's bothering you. Basically it's diving vs reacting. Nothing is worse. That friend of mine went much further in life than I did. He's successful, I'm not, if you want to humiliate introverts and praise extraverts - go on, use this info, laugh at me. If it makes you feel better. I'm weak but smart, I don't boast. It's just how it is.

Having to make this clarification is a constant headache, sometimes it makes you want to leave people in their mistake just so they do not bother. :/

You made me remember an occasion when I did, the guy was an idiot (and I do not know if he still is), he constantly insisted me to be more "sociable" because according to him being shy was bad, he disliked me, in fact I still dislike her, the worst thing is that he is a husband of a distant cousin... -.-

just read the full series, and I think a lot of people can appreciate the truth and wisdom you share here about introversion
I'm a pretty social introvert, and you really hit the nail on the head with what it's like for different personality types to interact.
I like the visual metaphor you used for the inner-mind workings of the ponies here, and how with few words and well-executed body language and facial expressions, it doesn't take much to understand Eri and the other characters in the comic.
Been following your posts for a long time, and I really appreciate when you post new stuff. Keep up the great work!
