Description Now hands are a pain in the ass! But trust me you eventually get the hand of it....heh heh...

Pointing is probably a good way to start drawing hands as you don't show all the fingers. If you look at what I've done you can almost divide it into sections with the thumb as a seperate shape forward of the rest of the hand. When you draw a tricky image try to take your time and look at the flow and fluidity of the lines, the contours of the limbs etc. Note how the thumb flows from a curve in the ligiment of the wrist. I have a suggestion to help you draw body parts.
1/ get an illustrated medical manual and spend some time drawing from the images or look at photos of people and examine their muscle tone and shadow.
2/ Practice continuous line drawing where you don't remove your pencil from the paper to get into the habbit of drawing flowing shapes, it doesnt matter how narly it looks its about gaining fluid control...I'll put some of my old continuous line drawings up for you soon

Thanks so much I found this so useful for my artwork (it's an abstract but it has loads of random hands everywhere incorporated into the picture)
Thanks again!

Very cool. I'm working on hands, myself, and seeing how you shaded yours is really useful.
