Description
In celebration of getting 4000 Watchers I decided to make this! Its a 4k version of my most faved picture, The Rirual!

Yeah I've seen that sometimes too, creatures that they gave human-like hands but didn't give them half of human movement. But now usually if you flip the "hidden properties" switch and break the pose limits you can get around a lot of that. Myself I prefer to start with a stock pose as close to what I imagined and then tweak it; it feels easier to get the pose mostly right. I reworked a pose on an arm recently and realized I had it completely off when I zeroed the arm pose instead of converting the original pose and from zero pose got it where I wanted it. Although the pose was essentially right it just looked wrong somehow so I zeroed all the arm dials and re-worked it from there. But usually I can find a pose that's very close to what I wanted and it saves a fair amount of time tweaking every joint-dial.
There's one figure I have - Zorn; www.daz3d.com/zorn - and I have to wonder; for an SF alien; how does he hold a "gun" ??? Thumb; big upper finger; tiny pinky finger; if he tried to hold a gun and fire it with his tiny pinky and thumb that big upper finger would pull the gun right out of his hand. MAYBE he could use a shotgun type weapon where he'd use the other hand to grip it but a pistol type weapon would be silly. So I found a model of the weird "Black Hole" movie pistol with upper and lower barrels and flipped it so the trigger would be pulled by his pinky because that's the only thing that makes sense to me.
I wonder this same thing about a lot of the Mass Effect aliens who don't have enough fingers to properly hold a weapon. They make all the weapons with human-shaped grips and for some of these aliens it just doesn't make sense.

I've used the weapon the purple girl has - upside down - with him; so far it's the only weapon I can find that makes sense for that hand.

Yeah I've played around with them and swords too; got a couple Sci-Fi melee weapons. Most of the interesting stand-alone characters that have been done just cannot handle items well. They look cool but try to do anything but have them wrestle with somebody or look menacing with bared claws and they are nearly useless.

It just means you have to be cleverer in how you use them.

I did that with one f the odd little stand-alone figures; retextured the skin for their "spacesuits" and used a primitive sphere for the helmets and found a weapon they could actually hold.

The background is just a Cyclorama jungle scene that's stock from DAZ: www.daz3d.com/heart-of-the-jun… and the helmets are just primitive spheres with a glass shader. Sometimes figuring out odd ways to create add-ons for scenes is almost as much fun as seeing the final scene. I have a bit of a fetish for transparencies and transparent garments on my girls so I had an idea for green bunny-girls wearing a weird transparent suit that would help them blend in to the environment. I'm still not entirely happy how that came out but it was a try.

That's always been one of my biggest entertainments. Half of it is just trying to see if I can make an imagined image come out close to how I imagined it; the other half is the problem solving and figuring out how to kitbash costume pieces.

I figured out how to select multiple bones and move them at once it can help a bit, also how to reset one single tentacle if the pose doesn’t work out
