Description Second recent go at my heavy sniper. This one is pretty close to what I'm going for.
Could use some more thought into proper workings, and maybe further experimentation with proportions. Still not sure about the grip/bipod, I have some ideas to improve it, but maybe it just needs to go.

Reminds me a lot of the WA2000. It's astounding.

judging by the sis of the magazine im guessing its along the lines of the .50 caliber rifles, i like the grip as well.

Remember that when you design a weapon you need enough room behind the magazine and chamber for the bolt to slide (in order to pick up a fresh round). Auto loaders need more of this room for a better sliding action too.
The shortest large caliber bolt I have seen is about 8cm on a barret and that's a bolt action. I do say that bolts of the future can be made short, but you still need "some" room, and the more room you give the more reliable it should be.
So yeah, I think the extended mag/bullet size has made it inoperable.

Now when you say it...
yeah, I'm not very good when it comes to these things but thanks for helpful information
I'll try to remember it next time (and maybe I should read a bit more how gun works)

Alright, before I get into the specifics about what I like and love about this rifle, I must say that this has excellent detail, and I think that even the rough grittiness adds to it.

Personally, my favorite aspects of this rifle are the fact that it is a bullpup, not something that is usually seen in sniper rifles, the length of the scope in comparison to the exposed portion of the rifles barrel, and the fact that the grip, scope, and barrel are connected, albeit loosely for lack of a better term.

The hand grip for the trigger finger looks like it would have a very natural feel to the grip of the users hand, while the under-barrel hand grip looks like it would be very steady. I do want to say that a bipod may not be the best of ideas, though I would make it an optional feature, for a sniper that would want to use it.

The area with the most interest to me is the muzzle. With the vent at the top, one would think that the recoil would be downward instead of up, with the gasses being expelled upwards instead of out and to the sides. Very interesting idea. I have to say that this would definitely be my choice of sniper rifle, if it happened to be real.

Thanks for all the nice points. As for getting one, you can still get a bullpup barrett

Now this looks like a fun weapon, its nice and solid looking. Conventional rounds or something special come screaming out of that barrel?

Shimmering-Sword In reply to RestfulSleeper [2009-11-10 06:58:39 +0000 UTC]

Right now it's just something firing .50cal (but in the future so better ballistics than a BMG).
Thought about a rifle firing sliver type rounds, but that make them very small, or a very long magazine. This thinkin though

A really nice peace, I totally adore the grip and the scope ^^. Looks like a shortened version of a bigger rifle? It slightly resembles the IMI Tavor and the SVU (why SVU I don't really know). The grip looks really comfortable. Nice job ^^.

I like comfy grips and fat scopes
The tavor is a cool rifle, along with most modern bullpups these days. Some of the 2nd generation designs are amazing (like the mini tavor).
SVU for the rounded triangle shaped foreward body?
Thanks for stopping by man.

Not realy sure, I'm not a weapons expert, only familiar with firepower through games, movies and a little background search on the web. Sorry to disappoint you xP.

Nah same here, I don't own any, but I do my research. I am making plans to buy an ar15/m4 style rifle though.

I put a lot of time into grips, they really have to work, and I want them to look good at the same time

Ah, I also see you have some firepower of your own. How much does an AR15 go for these days? (or an M16A4 if they arn't many times costlier)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Arixx In reply to Shimmering-Sword [2009-05-15 01:18:33 +0000 UTC]

I paid about $800 for my AR15 a few years back. Due to the recent, shall we say, "Changes", They are going for 1,300 or more

And ammo is a bitch to find at a reasonable price.
