Description A powered muscle suit with supplemental appliquΓ© armor, and underneath it all a not quite typical soldier.
Working in squads, these pack hunters are notorious for aggressively hunting down opposing infantry and power armor. Their purpose specific loadouts often leave them lacking potency versus armor and mech units however, so they avoid such threats with their high battlefield mobility.

I like the helmet and gun especially.Β  They aren't super bulky like in many games.Β  Sure a gun with a chainsaw on it looks cool, but it probably weights twenty pounds.

Hey shimmering-awesomeperson what brushes do you use?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shimmering-Sword In reply to TheDesignosaur [2012-01-06 01:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Just round brushes mostly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDesignosaur In reply to Shimmering-Sword [2012-01-06 08:51:24 +0000 UTC]

I have been testing out brushes but I can't seem to get anything I feel comfortable with D:

The biggest part to learn working digital is to handle strokes and pressure, seeing as those fundamental interactions change a lot compared to traditional work. Special brushes will help you more quickly pump texture into your work, but how you control everything is based on your skill with making strokes and handling pressure sensitivity.

So with that, I make the most of just a hard round and a soft round brush. The soft brush works great in overlay mode to quickly add overall lighting and to pump color into your work. I also have a very basic textured brush that I use for clouds/smoke, but I mix it with my other round brushes.

That is really helpful, I am a bit afraid to upload the stuff that I draw because it sucks haha but once I get better I will upload it This may be pushing it but have you ever thought of doing a tutorial on how to paint?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shimmering-Sword In reply to TheDesignosaur [2012-01-06 22:12:28 +0000 UTC]

Because I never really used tutorials on how to paint myself, I don't see how much help it can be. I think that what a professional is capable of doing is largely grounded in their experience, making it hard for a newer artist to gleam useful skills from their tutorial, which is why my main recommendation to artists is to simply "practice more".
