Description
I was looking at cugars amazing abstracts the other day and it inspired me to have a go at making a pure abstract again. Oddly enough I did this with an old poser render I found, and a lot of messing it about in Photoshop. I was picturing some sort of balrog type thing, a thing of fire deep underground, but to be honest it's just a few shapes I liked.Related content

no, most of the manipulation was done in PS

It's about 4 renders put together and distorted in PS, a lot of the blocks are pure PS creations though.

Can I ask, did you plan for it too look like it does, or did it grow?

Definately grew, although I had the colours and blurs in mind.

I see, but I mean, is it an organic render or loads hand crafted vector blocks?

That's excellent again Nik. I like the murky cloudy background that the thing is emerging from. This would have been a great opportunity to add one of your trademark 'eyes' into it somewhere You know I like the eye thing you do

I like this one alot. The colors and shapes flow together nicely. Also would like to see what you can do with a 3d render.

Ok. I am usualy a fan of your work but this piece sucks. The composition and colors are poor. Two aspects wich I usualy realy enjoy in your work.

Well I disagree about the composition seeing that it is pretty standard for my pictures. As for the colours I spent quite a bit of time removing a lot of them to get the desaturated look I wanted. I also really wish people could think of less blunt comments like 'this sucks'. If I wanted to be as blunt about other people's work I would spend a lot of my time writing insulting comments into this site, which I don't.

this is great, I normally dont like abstract, only because I never feel anything looking at it. this is deep and dark, I fucking love it. Im favoriting it as I type.

Once again. I never know whether I want to reach out and touch these, or whether doing so would cause me horrible pain and suffering. Good job!

this is awesome..the title really matches because you start to search for a demon shape in it, but then you (atleast i did) find out that you can see a face in a lot of parts of the picture...most of them evil..screaming..
i love it.

The use of blurs is amazing in this, and the color scheme i love to death. Your work is fast becoming some of my favorite stuff

ugh, the balrog of digital (should i say 'binary') depths? does it have ring zero access too (like some other malware around)? great art, man.
