Description --EDIT 2--

wings-gothic-emo1 was kind enough to provide a spanish translation ! ^w^

--EDIT--

There is now a Part Two on transparency!

-----
Big file is big. >w<

THIS WILL REQUIRE ANOTHER PROGRAM, CALLED IRFANVIEW. Just a heads up.

You can get it here: www.irfanview.com/

I've seen a lot of people on dA and around the interwebs asking about how to get rid of black pictures from MMD. (Like when you select "render to picture file" and it goes "NOEP" and you get a black picture... Like that.) I have had this problem myself, and was only able to render pictures at 1020x720, which made then look terrible, especially if it was supposed to be more vertical than horizontal. //sob

This is my personal method of rendering pictures. I don't know if anyone in the MMDC uses this method and I'm just a noob and didn't realize, but I haven't seen a tutorial anywhere that addresses this issue. So, VOILA.

This method will work with ANY resolution, so long as MMD doesn't tell you that it's too large for your computer. If it's within it's set parameters, it will work. I've tested it on multiple sizes, including on midget sizes like 50x50. (Although MMD COULD render that size itself on my computer. owo)

Like it says in the picture, ENJOY!

Thank you so much! I was having an issue with it crashing when I tried to render large image files... really weird that it doesn't want to render a single image but can render an infinitely large video.

My pictures don't turn black... but they look like puzzle pieces instead (as if someone jumbled them up). I might use this idea, 'cause I have to keep saving my picture files lately until it saves it properly. It's getting really annoying.

I use this method, and it's so helpful, because my MMD doesn't want to let me render pics, so it's the only way, thank you!
And, no problems with submitting~

This can be useful too for who have the old version of mmd because instead of rendering to JPG file everytime and the pic comes in bad quality because the old mmd doesn't have the png file now they can render photos to high quality without upgrading to the latset mmd

I've been trying to do the extraction frames part, but whenever I come back to my picture it still has 2 frames in it.

Oh, by the way, this tutorial is AWESOME!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shixsaysxbaa In reply to HannahKagamine11 [2013-09-30 23:44:02 +0000 UTC]

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking ;3;

The frames are the images themselves (in BMP format, since that's what IrfanView extracts to). If you have two frames, then you should have two separate images. @w@?

HannahKagamine11 In reply to shixsaysxbaa [2013-10-01 00:17:26 +0000 UTC]

I didn't have two separate images, it was like... A GIF of some sort?

Thank you so much!!

All of the pictures that I've rendered before were so low quality. . . I couldn't stand it, and I didn't think I could adjust the quality until now.

Thank you so much!! Now I can kill my computer by rendering stuff that's 900000 x 900000 pixels :3

I just want new users to enjoy MMD and not have to go "WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING??" because that makes me sad.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shixsaysxbaa In reply to saya45 [2013-06-26 21:23:15 +0000 UTC]

I haven't found a way to do this directly through Irfanview; I typically edit it in another program and save it as a .png that way. For transparency, I made my own green screen for use as a background and then edit it out ;w;
