wings-gothic-emo1 was kind enough to provide a spanish translation ! ^w^

--EDIT--

There is now a Part Two on transparency!

Big file is big. >w<

THIS WILL REQUIRE ANOTHER PROGRAM, CALLED IRFANVIEW. Just a heads up.

You can get it here: www.irfanview.com/

I've seen a lot of people on dA and around the interwebs asking about how to get rid of black pictures from MMD. (Like when you select "render to picture file" and it goes "NOEP" and you get a black picture... Like that.) I have had this problem myself, and was only able to render pictures at 1020x720, which made then look terrible, especially if it was supposed to be more vertical than horizontal. //sob

This is my personal method of rendering pictures. I don't know if anyone in the MMDC uses this method and I'm just a noob and didn't realize, but I haven't seen a tutorial anywhere that addresses this issue. So, VOILA.

This method will work with ANY resolution, so long as MMD doesn't tell you that it's too large for your computer. If it's within it's set parameters, it will work. I've tested it on multiple sizes, including on midget sizes like 50x50. (Although MMD COULD render that size itself on my computer. owo)

Like it says in the picture, ENJOY!

Thank you very much
Actually, I came up with this method too, but when it was rendering to a video, I screen soot the image. But it had bad quality. So anyway, this tutorial helped me a lot, so thanks again!

This picture uses MME (aka Miku Miku Effect), and was probably editted outside of MMD as well, using some form of picture editting software.

As for the video, that's where Irfanview comes in! >w< If you tell Irfanview to extract the frames from the video, it'll change it into picture format :3

Well IrfanView worked well first times but then the latest tme i tried it, the picture which it extracted cannot be opened, it says the picture is corrupt or too large. (Definitely not too large, I typed in the same size as I used to type in)

... I've never seen that happening before D:

What resolution did you have it at?

I tried making a picture as big as possible and couldn't get this to happen so I wanna try it again >w<

How do you open the AVI file on Irfanview? >3< I feel very goofy asking this.

Right click on the file, and then hover over "Open with..." and click on Irfanview. :3

Hi, please help! This tutorial was so helpful , but the image/avi is always blurry or pixelated and bad quality..Do you know what the problem is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shixsaysxbaa In reply to joseph-esapa [2012-12-18 20:05:27 +0000 UTC]

It might be your screen resolution setting in MMD. Typically, I set mine to HD settings when making pictures, typically being 1900x1280 (although I change it depending on what I'm using the picture for/its orientation). To check it, go to "view," then "screen size." There is a limit to how high you can make it, though, which depends on what computer you're using. Most of the time (meaning, 97% of the time), 1900x1280 is big enough XD
