So, uh, yeah- weird urge yesterday to draw Sailor Moon, then got to thinking about how her costume and demeanor would translate into an early Edwardian evening gown, and here we are! I probably could have pushed the design further into obscurity, but I sort of like that it's still recognizeable.-C

Well this is just stunning. Β I love I thought I couldn't possibly love BSSM more, but in Edwardian evening gowns, maybe I could! Β The texture on her sleeves and Serenity's elegant hair style just kill me. Β Too gorgeous! Β I would love to see the other inner soliders (*cough*Venus*cough*) like this but actually, I'm not sure my girly heart could even handle it... (so many bows!)

Y'know what... I was just looking at this one again, and it got me thinking... I know you're busy doing your Disney Princesses, but I would love love LOVE to see your take on the Sailor Scouts in their Princess dresses - your style. Take leads from Takeuchi-sensei's designs, or simply run with the themes of their powers or of their planets - but I'd love to see a chromatic set of them done by you. Dunno if you've got the interest - but I know you'd come up with something amazing! <3

That would be cool! It's admittedly a bit tougher just because they're all wearing what are essentially 90's evening gowns... If I put them in any particular historical period I'd just be guessing.

Or you could do an iconic character from various popular anime throughout the years and put them in a time period either based on the series original intent or otherwise... (Ideas: Cowboy Bebop, Ranma 1/2, Hayao Miyazaki's work)
Another potentially good set would be console video game characters... (Ideas: Zelda, Mortal Combat, Mario, Megaman)
So many options for both!

Granted, I think people seem to forget that this isn't the only thing I enjoy doing- I don't want to only design costumes for the rest of my life, and these take up a lot of my time and energy.
I'm doing Disney because I'm passionate about it- there aren't many other franchises that would keep me interested long enough to do that sort of thing, especially since I watch very little anime and didn't own a console until I was 22.

I think that since they're fantasy princesses from the ethereal planets of the solar system, guessing would be fully acceptable. ;D
It'd be neat to maybe go through the 20th century, though, starting from closest to the sun being most modern, and going outwards decade by decade...

If nothing else, personality wise, some of those would be fantastic! Especially Uranus in the totally boyish looks from the 20s? Venus in the glitzed-out 70s? Mars in pin-up 50s? hahaha, t'would be grand. The idea hashing alone is fun~

Love *tarorae's idea!! if you wanted to go for more variety, you could even stretch out the periods to every fifty years or so, or switch countries based on each of the different characters! Love your art

Yah, I like the idea of different countries, for sure! It would just probably be more fun if Shoomlah's able to pick different time periods/places than the ones she's already covered. :3 I hope she ends up taking us up on this suggestions!
