Since I live in the path of totality, eclipse madness is in full swing. 500,000 tourists are arriving just in town. Every single place is packed, even grocery stores. Advertisements for eclipse glasses are everywhere, even on the side of sketchy RVs by the railroad tracks. Every single store has a section for eclipse merchandise, some better than others.

I based the Eclipse-VU off of the eclipse viewers we have, a basic viewer design instead of a glasses design. I wish we had glasses for us but a viewer works a lot better for this little bean! It was made with Sculpey Souffle rolled out and cut with an Xacto. After it was baked I added the words and crescent moon with a needle and the dots with a dotting tool, using three different colors of acrylic paint. The "filter" part felt pretty dang genius to me when I came up with it! I adhered a scrap of black tissue paper to the back with Sculpey Glaze and let it dry. Unfortunately Xactos don't really work on tissue paper so I just had to carefully tear the excess off. As you can see from the edge I tore a little too much at one end which was a little disappointing, and showed the idea wasn't quite genius level, but overall I think its still fine! It could've turned out a lot worse, haha.
