The version on the left is the best. With the exception of the eyes, it looks like it could have come right out of the show.

You're quite right - I had a little trouble with the eyes in that era. I have the audacity to think I've gotten better since then... :3

You know, coming back for another look at the image, I think the Gadget on the left looks a bit more muscular than how Disney drew her. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd gained some muscle mass while working with the Rangers over the years (and a few fighting skills from Monty). I think that slightly more muscular body suits her. How many times have we seen her moving something that would be very heavy for a mouse?

Very cute! I love how you emphasized her having fur on the right one. Some people think she has no fur. She's soo cute, and having fur makes her more cuddly in my opinion.

A little fur trick I picked up a while ago. It accentuates the "furry" aspect of a character (while not adversely affecting them, IMHO).
