Description
This is my presentation partial model of a pathway/resting place I designed for my Intro to Design II class (COA 1012). Called Aldea, which is Quenya (Elvish) for "avenue of trees," it is intended to be covered by vines which filter the light coming in, giving the effect of a tree canopy.Although the actual design covers a triangular area, this partial model shows part of the bench under the structure. The wavelike structure on the side with the mesh is a surface for people to lean against- the wave allows for different body heights. The straight side is along the street- the openings allow easy pedestrian flow.

The study model, seen here: [link]
shows more structural detail. The presentation model only shows the primary and tertiary structures of the wall, while the study model shows the secondary structure as well as the clear canopy used to deflect rain.
Please, ask questions about my design! I'll be more than happy to talk about it.
Constructed with chipboard, Sculpey, and wireform mesh.

Thanks! Only wish I had the time to add some representation of vines to the structure. Oh well.
