There are 17 candles burning in a house east of Marsh View Drive. The flames try for a taste of the clouds and dance only to outshine the fireflies. These fames gaze jealously and murmur to the air, only outshone by distant burnt out galaxies that outnumber the grains of sand on the earth. In the fire place, the tinder and kindling scream in protest, pushing sparks of the fire onto the sleeping foot of a maiden. One by one, the candles are put to sleep by her – earth-bound stars snuffed out by the faintest whisper of breath.Related content

This is really beautiful writing Cee. I love the picture it shows and it's very telling. I do think fames is supposed to be flames right?
