im kinda confused about Dinky and Derpy how come her daughter is a unicorn while Derpy is a pegasus?

well, some people think she's adopted but then again, the cakes, who are both earthponies have a unicorn daughter and a Pegasus son which apparently has to do with them having unicorns and pegisi somewhere back in there family tree. Derpy could possibly have some unicorn relatives, her other daughter, Amethyst Star, nicknamed "Sparkler" after Rarity's aunt Sparkler, who was originally in g1Β is also a unicorn. I myself, would like to imagine that Derpy and Rarity's family's a related,Β this would carry the unicorn gene as well as be funny and maybeΒ reason for the nickname of Sparkler. Hope this helped.Β
