Twilight was very much in denial after seeing how bad Celestia is with acting. It is quite the obstacle with her ignoring her friends and we've only seen this several times.
It's just hard to believe Twilight would even consider taking the route that she did with not being honest and truthful to Celestia.

On the other hoof, both Twilight and Celestia were SUPER adorable in this episode!!!

MLP SEASON 8 -- Horse Play [Review]
Being the ruler of all the lands in Equestria, we would think that Celestia would be very talented. She is loved by just about every pony and creature... though, villains... not so much. It's been quite awhile since the last Celestia episode. Since season 7, we've been waiting for a sisterly type of episode between Luna and Celestia and wow... what a fantastic episode it was! Now things are a bit different, and will Celestia find her inner talent somewhere in this episode? Lets go ahead and find out!

Well, well... I guess Celestia isn't much of an actress at all. I mean, she did have good intentions, but wow... even I can say that it wasn't all too good for her. She did try a lot and I honestly do give a plus one for that, but her acting could use a lot of work. The whole episode was dedicated to a play reminiscence of the anniversary of whenever Celestia first raised the sun. Quite an interesting type of play to consider, though we owe it mostly to Pinkie Pie for knowing
