Ohhh boy!!! I sure am excited to see Rainbow's Wonderbolt career take off and I am just overall, VERY excited for
her appearance in the NEW episode on Saturday! It is just going to be VERY surprising seeing her officially in a uniform as well.
One thing that I hope for is to see the return of Lightning Dust. She just left on a sad note during season 3 and I'm sure
that she has learned her lesson from Rainbow Dash about being the best without doing it in a completely inconsiderate way.

I have a OC in my mind canon who is a fast-flying Pegasus like Rainbow Dash, but he prefers not to join the Wonderbolts, since he feels being a member of a famous group isn't worthwhile.

Well his type of speed is powered by plasma energy, and he leaves a trail of bright blue light when going at fast speeds. He takes some pride in his abilities, but doesn't brag about it. I call him "Plasma Blaze."
I once imagined his fast plasma abilities might knock some Wonderbolts off course by accident if he
happened to speed by them.

Yes, and Plasma has a wing power of 12.6. According to me he has his own move that propells him to
extremely high speeds fast to keep up with Rainbow Dash, called the "Plasma Bolt".

In his regular speed, Plasma is not as fast as Rainbow, but when he is 'plasma mode', he can keep up with her in speed.
Can you think of how Rainbow would react to Plasma Blaze flying past her (not at Plasma Bolt
speed, but at a relatively fast pace) while she is in the air? With his trail of blue light
behind him?

Note: Plasma is going at a moderately fast speed at this moment, not at his fastest.

This is what Plasma would say before they race:
"Oh, you are that rainbow-maned flyer I heard about? What do you know about me?"
You can reply as Rainbow Dash if you'd like. After Rainbow replies, they race.

Okay, so Rainbow says she is surprised to see another flyer with that speed and admits
to have never seen somepony with plasma-charged abilities.
So the two race, and because of Plasma's quicker reaction time in doing his Plasma Bolt, (Rainbow's Sonic
Rainboom has a slower reaction time) he ends up winning the race.

Dashie ought to be super angry that she lost though... because we do know that she really hates losing.

Well, in my canon story, before racing, Rainbow sees Plasma as a truly worthy opponent, and because there
was no "beginner's luck" causing Plasma to win, Rainbow is intially speechless that he won, and it turns out...
Plasma is the first flyer to beat her in a race.
Of course, Rainbow could ask for a rematch. I also see Rainbow as fine with the fact that
Plasma did not cheat during the race.
But what do you think Rainbow would react to the fact that Plasma is the first pony to beat her in a race? (At least, she's more astonished than angry.)

And Plasma would say "While I can't deny the Wonderbolts are amazing, I just don't feel

One last OC talk for now-
Before flying away, Plasma tells Rainbow that she could race with him anytime if she wants
a rematch, and then before speeding off, says "I'm plasma-tastic!" (my catchphrase for him)
He also tells her that he lives in a house on the ground, rather than on a cloud.

Plasma is modest, and he knows how to not brag. And he could basically say that he does have
great abilities but uses it for personal fun and for a useful purpose and not as a way to get famous, as
Plasma Blaze wouldn't mind some attention, but doesn't want to be a celebrity.

I've even written a little theme song for Plasma:
(This is based on the song "Pumped Up Kicks".)

I imagine him singing this to the Mane 6 as an entertaining way
of demonstrating his abilities.

I haven't been keeping up with the episodes for a while, and seeing this was one of the best things ever. To see Rainbow Dash become a Wonderbolt almost brought a tear to my eye, same with the CMC getting their Cutie Marks, and back in season 3 when Twilight became a princess. I gotta tell you, one of the things that makes this show great is the characters and how REAL they are, how they have dreams and goals, and it makes the times where they reach these dreams and goals such a heartwarming thing to see.
