I just looked through your work and on this piece for example I would've liked it a lot better if the eyes were in focus instead on the nose/muzzle. ^^
But that's just me. I guess we have a different taste of what's looking beautiful here.

What a beautiful husky and he does seem rather happy! I have a husky female myself and I adore her so much the only thing about her is she is an escape artist and will break run the first chance she gets and has poor recall. We have to basically out smart her to get her back. But when she is at home with her family she is the best loving girl even with children. I love how your husky has one brown eye and one blue eye it's neat. Mine only has blue eyes. BTW this is a Beautiful picture!!!

not my dog unfortunately, its a friends dog, but thanks! i have had a husky before tho and i recommend getting a long cable tie out for her and a collar that properly fits so she cant slip out. that or perhaps a taller kennel/enclosure huskys in general have horrible recall unless you train train train the hell out of them. i have seen some that were good off leash but it takes a ton of work to get em there.

Friends dog or not it's beautiful!! Yeah anything we anchor into the ground for my husky see will pull up we have to put her in her kennel before ever opening the front door. Yep no matter how much training she had she still has poor recall.

Hmm... you have any trees? they have cable ties that go around trees...thats what we used... or perhaps sink a metal pole a few feet into the ground in concrete. guarenteed she wont pull that up...or if she does, shes as strong as a large heavy duty truck lol. she should have enough training to atleast not have to be crated before opening the door... sit or down and stay are very helpful commands. how old is she?

She is 3 years old and we have a weeping willow tree in our backyard but it's only been there a few years. We sink the metal rods into the ground which does does eventually pull up and when she does that it does make it easier to catch her. Her training consisted of teaching her to sit, shake hands, and as long as we are in door I can handle her and tell her what to do where she listens. But when we cross that door and we are outside everything changes and I am not quite sure why. The idea of sinking a metal pole sounds like a good one. The house we currently now live does not have a fence because the community has so many rules and only allows fancy 4ft ones so we haven't bothered because she will jump them. She has to go on lots of walks which those she doesn't mind and does really well on. Oh and she loves her crate. You get upset at her she goes to her crate, she wants to sleep she goes to her crate, you tell her to go to her crate she goes there so that's a plus because when she is let out of her crate and I am still sleeping she thinks she is a lap down and comes and jumps up on me wanting love. Anyhow, I know I am rambling. Thanks for the comment!

Beautiful dog You have a wonderful composition here, but the focus is on the nose. I'm not sure if this is how you intended, but as a personal opinion, I like the focus to be on the eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul after all, and I feel like they always bring a sense of intimacy in the shot. Fantastic work nonetheless, keep it up!

yea didnt intend on that, and he only stood still long enough for 1 shot. reguardless of focus, it quickly became my most favorited pic. i wish this dog was mine, but he belongs to a good friend and we met up at the beach

thats because i mostly capture dogs at play, or after play. occasionally ill get some different emotions as well, but its usually a happy playful mood. it always brings a smile to my face as well. nothing i enjoy more then spending time working with dogs. weather its photography, or voulentering with rescues or shelters or whatever..

its ok it was better for him cause he was sick. i swear he was reincarnated into the guinea pig i have now tho since this lil one acts just like a dang rott. haha he beats up on my other dogs (who are GIANT compaired to him) Maya who is a rott/lab and Zeus who is a Husky/wolf. Just imagine the 2 giant dogs running away from the guinea pig as the guina pig chases them. xD

Lookin' great there. Only thing I would consider is maybe blurring the background a bit more, give it more of a shallow depth of field and maybe, now this is a preference of the artist, I always go for focusing on the eyes.. but if the focus is the tongue and nose then awesome. If that's the case though I probably would crop tighter on those. The shot composition seems to suggest more of the husky as a whole as the topic.
Just my photo class 2 cents coming out LOL
Awesome still none the less Reud!

it was actually meant to be a picture of his face. i already cropped it down slightly, it was one of my random shots where i just did a point and shoot style. it wasnt set up or trying for one thing or another. it just turned out nice, i did some b&w with selective color, and thats the result the camera just happened to focus on the tounge. as for blurring the rest, the blur tool never works that great for me. i personally dont think it needs to be blurred any more tho.

I love those eyes Is it just me, or does it seem like the nose is the focal point, with the face fading out? Was this the intent?
