The pain is that one is Vista and the other is Mandriva ONE... The other system is a lot slower than this one too... it's a P3 @ 450 with 512MB Sdram....

I can tell you now - I will NEVER purposefully buy an Acer - don't get me wrong it's a fast lappy - but its verge of overheat even with a Thermaltake 120mm fan lappy cooler under it..

No, this is not my 'chosen' brand. Which would be Dell - my wife's just works, even running Vista its still working.
Though my actual chosen brand would be AlienWare - amazing, though overpriced, laptops...

I need to keep up more with those articles.... just haven't had the time...

With Blender it uses 100% of available processor(s) - I know there is no way to get better results without having multiple computers.

Nice!
Have fun with the widgets! I watched my husband play around with the widgets that Windows7 has. Same stuff. (He was beta testing it).

SiathLinux In reply to Gymnart [2009-03-09 19:36:17 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I won't even mess with Windows7 till I have a system for just 'laying' on - can't afford a crash right now.
The widgets here are mostly 'Vista' widgets - except the system monitor - which is 'an approved for Vista Widget' ...

Gymnart In reply to SiathLinux [2009-03-09 20:22:07 +0000 UTC]
Well, they're the same widgets that are included in Windows 7. They look cool.

SiathLinux In reply to Gymnart [2009-03-10 00:34:43 +0000 UTC]
They are the same gadgets because Windows7 still uses a lot of Vista SP1 stuff

I made a video using your scene with the stairs in the middle - it's an 'advert' for 3D Motion Graphix, Inc. as well - do you mind if I put it up here on deviantART?
