Description Sci Fi Scene Part 2 (part one was technically the container)

I want the scene to be 'dark' as other items added will 'create their own light' and I will want that light to show...

Added better shelving - steel framed, glass shelves.
Added the overhead lighting and made it red, (21 overhead lights)
Edited the lights inside the containers to be more 'ambiant' than 'emitting'..
Added Base Floor
Added Base Ceiling
Added Base Walls (with several corners)

Next to do is to 'can' the overhead lights inside of 'bulbs' and create a fixture for the bulb to hang in.
Will also add the 1st Workstation with computer, keyboard, mouse, drawing pad, speakers, microphone, and Web Cam.

I'll do another render after that (should be tomorrow)...

Enjoy!

I think this has turned out very well, one thing i would add is light shades so the light dont look like they are floating! ^_^

If you go look at Sci Fi Scene Render 3 - those shades have been added

[link] <<< is my latest render of this scene (Blender internal - not RafRay

Make sure you full view to see them (the preview is tiny compared to the full view... )

Thank you -- I've done the Sink Workstation - the Sink for that Workstation, the Drain for that Sink, the Counter of the Workstation, the Sink, the Drain, and the Floor have all been UV Map Textured, I'm doing a test render at the moment (fulll YafRay render) because I change all of the lights to off-white, and I want to see this lightings effect on the 'tile' I choose for the floor, the texture I choose for the sink and counter (they are different textures - hoping to create a somewhat 'old school' look to the sink/counter, the sink and counter are sitting on a frame similar to the shelves... I'm also hoping the new settings will allow for the glass of the shelves to show better...

Blender is becoming more amazing with each new release and with more plug-ins than before it is getting some notice among the professional modelers

I have a tutorial all about rendering go check it out and also I will be making more tutorials - some will be more advanced -- but all will start from the basics... each will end with the render (both YafRay and Blender internal)

I think it's going very well, I say mix up the lighting a bit, to make some lights dimmer, and or produce a diffirent color light.

After some of the 'objects' that emit light are added into the scene I'll adjust the overheads to a more normal type ... and possibly give them a 'blue hue' instead of the red I have them set to now...

With RafYay rendering I have to be careful on adjusting the lights as a small adjustment seems to very drastically change the output on the render... (example those lights are set to 1.0 red / .0 green / .0 blue at .25 output level with halo effect at .25 output as well - 21 lights... all lights set the same -- when I did a test render at .20 output and .20 halo the scene was incredibly dark (it is a dark scene -- but it was to the point you could not see the edges at wall and floor... )

Hmm, I cannot relate since I don't have those kind of issues with Max. During max renders, lighting colors blend very well. But I am looking forward to the finished scene! If you get a chance to render it in wireframe, do that too, I'de like to see the geometry if you dont mind.

I don't consider it to be an issue (the lighting).... I'm doing a test render with full YafRay in order to look at some things I've added and some textures I UV Mapped ... I'll see about doing a wireframe after it finishes (about 20 minutes left.. )

It's not a problem - I have friends here from Russia, Slovinia, France, Japan, and many other countries... few of them speak English as a first language.

the ligth is very good .
but on the start light is to small ...
but the scene look cool i check your progression .
p.s I'm French so my English is bad sorry!

SiathLinux In reply to 3DEricDesign [2007-12-07 08:27:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, as the light is a 'spot' light and will be in a fixture the size of the source is rather small....

(and I already knew you are French and that English is a 2nd language for you )
