This weeks Facebook Time-lapse video of my piece "The Guest". Thought this was a good piece for the Valentine's holiday. Not sure if the monsters are the girl's pets or if they are just enamored with her.

I saw that you colorized all of the monsters completely, then eventually put them into black and white. Do you get a better greyscale/texture difference by doing that?

Yea, I wasn't sure I was going to make them black and white at first. I do like to color things what I would think were the real colors and then desaturate, its easier for me than trying to balance the values.

That was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed both the creative process in action and the music. Why did the girl keep disappearing? I'm assuming she was an overlay of some type.

Wonderful….I never realised you did your work digitally! And yeah, I see now all your stuff is labeled 'digital art', but I'm usually too distracted by the art to read the labels! (and I'm a bit dumb…lol)

I still do a lot in pencil and then scan it in and color it digitally. Although these were all done on the iPad. You have a great gallery by the way!!

I do all my drawing still with pencil and paper. I have tried over and over to draw directly digitally but it just doesn't feel right and the results are always pretty grim!!

I never liked drawing digitally until the new ipad and the apple pencil. Its been the closest thing for me as the iPad is 12" and certain programs have some really good pencil effects.

It takes some getting use to but I do really enjoy it now, especially just being able to take it with me and draw wherever. I recommend checking out the app "procreate". Only $5 and works a lot like photoshop where you can make and download your own brushes.

Sorry for the delay in replying…been very busy lately.
I need to start looking into alternatives for PhotoShop…I hate this new Adobe thing where you can't buy the programme anymore but have to 'rent' it by the month (greedy bastards!)….so maybe I'll try Procreate as a starter.
