Description Commissioned plain Renaissance re-enactment corset. This is not historically accurate, but is consistent with modern re-enactment and will provide the proper silhouette for garb, especially noble garb.

It is made with two core layers of hemp canvas, and two outer layers of cotton twill. Boning is 1/2" and 1/4" wide spring steel flats. Edging is pseudo-suede.

This looks so lovely. I totally envy you for those skills. I might be able to sew, but I'd fail horribly with something like a corset.

They are not the easiest things in the world to make, and I don't blame anyone who thinks they are too much of a pain to bother making.

Simple and elegant. This looks like it would really elongate the body line - as opposed to the tight-laced style of corset (for lack of better term, sorry) accentuating curves.

A longer torso is definitely the fashion ideal for this kind of corset. One of my personal favorites is something I don't have in my portfolio yet, where you combine this kind of shape for the upper part, but put Victorian curved hips on the bottom. It can really look killer.

Ooh. That sounds really pretty. I think I can picture it. Is the idea with these to keep the line smooth over the bust, too? It kind of seems like it from looking, but I'm not familiar enough with the style of how these fit on the body.

Here are two images on dA of conical corsets being worn: [link] [link]

The brown silk one was in partial trade for photos (since I haven't had time to make one to fit myself), so hopefully in a month or two I'll be posting images of it on a real person instead of a pillow. Yay!

Oh, cool! I think that would be a great style for me. Not that I can afford one by a long shot, but doesn't stop me from looking and considering styles!

I hope you get some wonderful photos back in return for your work!

Me too! She's also a repeat customer, so I'm happy to give her a chance.
