Hear me out. What if Wart became the new antagonist of the Yoshi series?

A few days ago, I seen a few tweets making Yoshi game mockups and talking about how Wart would've made for an interesting antagonist for the Yoshi series due to the series and other Yoshi related stuff borrowing some elements from Super Mario Bros 2 (ex: shy guys being the most common enemies in the Yoshi games and Birdo always being paired up with Yoshi thanks to their similarities). Honestly, I've always did try to think of who or what would make for a great villain for Yoshi that I agree with that Wart makes the most sense! I love the idea so much that I had to draw my take on it (what's crazy is that someone else was inspired by my art to also make their own mockup based on this concept)!

For real like not only does this idea brings Wart back from his obscurity (the fact that he didn't appear in Dream Team was a missed opportunity), but I think it also helps give Yoshi and his series their own identity. Like if Mario, Luigi, Wario, DK, and even Toad can have their own arch-nemesis, then why not Yoshi? Seriously, I hated how Yoshi is stuck with Baby Bowser (or in some other cases, adult Bowser) being his main antagonist in every game. As much as I love Bowser himself, I just don't see him as Yoshi's true nemesis. He's Mario's real nemesis and Yoshi having to share him with Mario just doesn't sit well for me. While Kamek is a better Yoshi villain, he's too tied down to Bowser to feel like he can work as a standalone villain like King Boo for an example. Heck, if not Wart, I'll take any other characters, old or new, to be Yoshi's new nemesis if it means the series can finally drop the whole "Bowser/Baby Bowser is the final boss" and "these games take place in the past/are prequels or origin stories to the Mario games" routes and this weird obsession with baby stuff in general.

I know this idea will never likely see the light of the day by Nintendo thanks to how admant they are about making the Yoshi games be for younger audience, but hey that doesn't stop me from still loving this idea so much! And who knows? Maybe some fangames, fanseries, etc based on this idea could exist someday.
