Lady prides herself on a lot: her mane, her voice, her temper. She's everything a "proper woman" wouldn't be. She drinks, she fights, she's a bitch- and damn proud of it. She pities no one and accepts no sob stories, she expects everyone to work just as hard as she has, no matter the occasion. Her career is everything, she loves the shining lights and the cheering fans. Her manager, Svengallop, couldn't be more proud of her. The first mare that Sven has ever worked with that could hold her own against him. She's just as demanding as he needs and just controversial enough to keep her slightly in his control... as far as he knows. Ladybug knows the manipulative bastard is just using her, but he's good at the actual business part of his job. She can't figure out if he's a creep or just a gay man with wayyy too much involvement in famous mares lives. Who knows- she doesn't really care enough to find out.
Ladybug has a wonderful relationship with her Uncle Zephyr (her hairdresser) and her mother, Tempest. Tempest is the one who gave her the meanest temper on this side of Equestria and her determination. Ladybug is very thankful for her mother and adores every moment she spends with her. Tempest is Lady's role model, Ladybug has devoted many of performances to her mother and albums. Tempest adores her daughters music, calling it "Crazy Bitch Country" (lovingly, of course. She knows that terminology doesn't bug her daughter at all.) Zephyr and Lady gossip constantly, especially about Svengallop. Zephyr pretends to still love his husband, but Sven is much too dedicated to his job and leaves Zephyr to take care of their kids. Ladybug is Zeph's unofficial therapist and best friend. Many of ponies have commented on the appropriateness of their friendship, but neither care. On the other hand of her family, Gnat and Fluttershy. She strongly dislikes her older half-brother Gnat. She finds his bratty attitude insufferable- she often purposely will give him the silent treatment whenever she's home, or asking him when he's going to get a job. He's part of the reason she doesn't want anything handed to her. The other reason is Fluttershy. Her other mother has always spoiled her older brother and tried to spoil Bear Hug (who grew up appreciating the things he got, unlike Gnat.) Fluttershy tended to ignore Ladybug since Tempest gave her plenty of attention, but she still tried. Fluttershy struggled with her loud, confident and mean daughter. Ladybug now has a very strained relationship with her other mother. She's polite to Fluttershy only to maintain her relationship with Tempest, since she knows that Tempest still very much loves Fluttershy, despite them often fighting over Fluttershy's parenting methods.
Her greatest rival in the world of music is actually her cousin, Starstruck, the son of Zephyr Breeze and Svengallop. He's a lot kinder than Ladybug and is a heartthrob. A lot of ponies adore their cousin rivalry and attend duo concerts set up and managed by Svengallop himself. The two have gone mic to mic several times- but how's their relationship off stage. It's actually surprisingly good! These two ponies will often go and get plastered together after concerts and help the other hook up with groupies and randos. Waking up the next morning and immediately texting the other about how bad/good/odd their hookup was. Thankfully they both have someone their own age to be friends with in the awful world of stardom.
