*Wendy passes out. I see where she is lying and run up to her, checking her pulse: faint. I pick her up and cover her wounds with my sleeveless duster and quickly walk to camp. In the cabin I set her on the table and take off the bloodied jacket and lift her shirt enough to expose the wound. It doesn't seem like a lot. Just a matter of repairing skin and muscle. I walk to the medical cabinet and examine the contents. I take out a surgical mask and gloves along with a flask of blood, a few syringes, a spool of threaded webs, and some spider glands. Walking to the dying girl, I start my work. {two hours later} I finish stitching the skin and carefully cut the silken string. The wound now sterilized with honey and wrapped with cloth, I rest Wendy on the bed, covering her with the old blankets.*
