Here are a couple of designs that I may use for a contest entry to create a romantic scene.

I am very worried about the colors on both because Krookodile's (on the left) design uses a monichromatic color scheme with a cool red while Scrafty's design uses warm colors. Because the contest will be judged by how the color theory will be used, how can I make this work?

I'm also concerned about the men's jeans. How could I color those to make them more jean-ish or at least more close to the greaser style I am going for?

Will scrap later.
