Description Karkat's POV

I walked down the hill of a street, heading for a café on the street corner I visit often.

I'm not sure why, but this is a human city I'm in.

There's a dragon at the intersection that's looking irritated, but I ignore it and duck into the café.

I spend a bit of time talking and then make my ways to the door to leave again, not quite sure what I'm doing here. I then run into this troll girl who's a couple solar sweeps younger than me (about 5 sweeps? I'm currently 8, by the way). I have some sort of flushed relationship for her and give her a small kiss, her horns remind me of a cross between Eridan's and Gamzee's but I ignore that.

She giggles and I decide to kiss her again, deeper this time to tease her(?).

She gasps, "______! I haven't eaten another duck yet! How could you!" She pouts and I smirk as I walk out and back up the street. I turn around and look back just in time to see the dragon destroy the café with an explosion, killing everyone within. It turned to me and I ran the other way… or at least tried to. It felt like I was constantly tripping over things, but my fear kept me running, despite going at a walking pace. I just knew it was coming for me.

At the intersection at the top of the hill, I was finally able to run again and broke out into a sprint.

I eventually came to a small plaza in the park above the city, several humans and possibly trolls (I was too frightened to truly pay attention) dotted the small, brick paved area.

I ran past them and to Gamzee, who just happened to be there. He held my shoulders and camly asked me what was wrong, that casual, carefree smile on his face like it usually is.

I quickly explained, not sure how close the monstrous reptile was behind me.

"FoLlOw Me," he said, and ran off, me following closely behind him.

He led me to the edge of the plaza, some stairs were hidden there by perspective, and then down them and then around and up some more to a tiny building that could probably only hold two people max.

Gamzee went in first and then me behind him. It was bigger on the inside than it was outside, and very brightly colored. The door closed behind me and my spoor slime eating friend explained, gesturing to the three doors in the room that had lines going down the middle of each (they were all whit with black lines, but half of the one in front was shaded grey), he explained that you have to pass through the correct part of the door to move on properly, otherwise you'd end up back at the beginning. He then proceeded through the grey half of the door. I did the only thing I could and followed him through.

All the doors after this were split horizontally into thirds, the bottom one always shaded grey, so we had to crawl through the hallway of doors. I began to wonder if this was some sort of magically created hall, and if the dragon couldn't just step on this hall and crush us because of that. This thought comforted me a little.

After a while we emerged a few miles outside of the city, which we could see from this mountainous hilly area that the city was being destroyed by many monsters and not just the dragon. Or at least I could, Gamzee had mysteriously disappeared. It was also strange how it didn't feel as though we had crawled several miles, but maybe that was just the magic of the door filled hallway.

It was now evening and getting dark. I turned from the city and towards the small cliff behind me, on top of it being a misplaced, working, lit-up but not running ferris wheel, several people had probably been there from the city for a break from life or something.

I could go up the cliff two ways; the long way around, which was up a slope that eventually evened out with the above plateau or the quick way, which was a convenient ladder that was attached to the cliffside.

Choosing the latter, it didn't take long to get up and over to the ferris wheel, where people were watching the city in horror, some were upset, but most of them were calm.

Sollux was there, a sour look on his face and his arms crossed.

He made a comment about the people who were upset or the city and how, due to that, he was irritated by something.

I asked about Gamzee, but he didn't have any idea about where he was, nor had he seen him. Though he said something about a nearby cave. I turned to look at where he pointed the cave out to be and I knew Gamzee had to be there. It was just across the slope and in another cliffside. I started out across the rocky terrain, leaving Sollux behind.

Halfway there, it became a lot more difficult to reach the cave when a stampede of escaping people came up the slope from the city. I pushed my way through, making it to my destination as the mass of people passed. What happened next was foggy, I entered the dark cave and the next thing I knew, I was in a car with Gamzee, him in the driver seat and I in the passenger. The car we were in was buried completely in rock and the only source of light we had was the dim in-car light.

My fear was suddenly back, as if I had just been running from the dragon a second ago.

I practically lunged into Gamzee's arms and he held me in a comforting way, almost as if he expected me to do that. I could sense him smiling down at me and I think he said something, possibly to comfort me, but I can't remember. I was fine being the way we were at that moment, it was relaxing.
