Jesus... how long have you planned to have Shikako go into ANBU. Until the last few chapters, I figured she was going to avoid that path to do other stuff.

Oh, so that's what the different seals look like! Wow, I'm trying to imagine all the possible uses-other than dropping swimming pools and giant stone pillars.Β
I was reading the comments, and I noticed the mention of Anbu. It seems that Shikako is going down a different route, though. I don't know if Anbu would give her the freedom she would need to prepare for the future. An Anbu, who knows a lot of secretive info, wandering the nation doing who knows what probably wouldn't be a thing. Even if Tsunade thought it was in Naruto's best interest. After all, Shikako herself is a target because of the Chunin Exams, her track record, clan status, and being in Anbu would just make it worse. I think. If she did end up in Anbu still, it'd be interesting to see how it'd be handled.

Currently she's only really using the resistance training ones. This is a 'future' picture, I think, given the ANBU tat. I didn't really give them meaning when I drew them, just more 'seals! Lots of seals!'.

so she will be anbu thats really really cool and i can see Kakashi helping during that time as her job as a shinobi gets more demanding and bloody as a anbu and danzo in this last chapter O__O is he going to be the one to push her into anbu? if so what about root is he going to try and recruit her and if he does how will she refuse? anyways i want some kakshi heart to heart when she joins anbu because he would know what to expect and maybe her dad to i mean seems like hed know some things also this shadow chakra stuff caused by the gelel does this mean she will have to store chakra for regular jutsu use? or is this just a temporary state until it runs out and she has to refill with natural shadow energy like with toad sage mode and nature chakra? Also what about Jiraiya is he going to help her tame this new shadow chakra? and also this is big for her clan she has just made (accidently) a whole new branch of shadow manipulation they have got to see how big THAT is
and also i guess this is how she is going to discover her shaow sage mode ? is she going to get a summons that is for clan members and learn sage mode from them t tame her shadow chakra?Β

I'm not quite sure how ANBU will work into the whole thing, which is why it's only 'possible'. I don't think Danzo will try to recruit her - she's too high profile for him, and far too unlikely to accept. But I think he will keep an eye on her.
The shadow transformation should be explained a bit more in the next chapter - I know, I keep saying that, sorry. The Nara already have a few similar high level techniques, she's just cheating and taking a bit of a shortcut to get to them. Which will probably worry her dad quite a lot. XD

oh ok man but it would be cool if she did join the anbu i mean there are chuunin anbu right? maybe during the time skip?? she would get better training with the anbu and it would give some arcs uniquely hers im just saying but do whatever you want to do ^__^

Most likely during timeskip, yes. I do think the Anbu stuff would be very interesting to explore, but I'll have to see how it fits in with everything else. XD

Yeah, I always assumed if she was going to become a seal master, she would end up having seals on her body. But those seals would have to be something EXTREMELY hard to visualize, and very complicated, considering she can already make explosives with a touch. Actually, those seals kind of remind me of the construction/destruction seals on scar in full metal alchemist. Actually, come to think of it, seals in fma and in naruto are VERY similar..... Anyways, I LOVE your art you've done on shikako! You've been REALLY improving!(at least I think so!) I can. NOT. WAIT till the next chapter! :3

I know, I always the girls should be shown with a bit more muscle. Ino's midriff top is a perfect chance for ab lines... I think it's just that I used a photo as a reference, which has proportion differences to anime drawings. Or something like that. XD

Quick question - when does this happen relative to the timeline of DoS (assuming it actually happens)? I ask because Shikako has both an impressive seal array AND an ANBU tattoo on her arm, which coupled with her physical appearance indicate it would have to be sometime in "Shippuden", if not later. Just by my own estimation.
That said, great job either way. It's a very impressive, unique image of her you've set up here, something to definitely be proud of.

Yeah, it would certainly be late Shippuden, if she joins ANBU at all. She is, of course, building seals already. XD It's an idea I've got floating around, but we'll see where the story takes us. XD

Ah, I see. One of those "potential ideas" which is floating around, in that you're note entirely sure how the story will end (or at least, you don't know all the specifics of how it "gets there"), right? I understand.
I bet you hadn't exactly SPECIFICALLY planned all the changes that happened during the Sasuke Retrieval Mission/Arc, either, did you? The story WAS originally meant as something of a commentary with limited plot-change - it's just that it grew organically in several differing directions (Karin dying in the Forest of Death, for instance, is a potentially MAJOR change which nonetheless came completely naturally from where I'm standing).
Good luck with progression. Hope to see more of your ideas for "reincarnation Roulette", too.

That's pretty much exactly it. XD I'd rather drop a cool idea than try and force it in if the story develops in a different direction. Hence why most of the future pics are only 'possible'. XD
