You know...looking at this again, I noticed her reflection doesn't quite match her live posture!  From how she's sitting, I'd think you'd show the bottoms of her feet & her toes like she's sitting on her feet, as it looks like she's doing. The mirror shows her propped-up on her knees. Just wondering if that's how you meant it to look?
This pose would actually look cool using your mermaid....in the reflection, she could have a tail, & you'd see her gills, & in the live pose, she'd retain all her fishy features, minus her tail, so you'd see the fin on her back, webbed fingers, & in this instance, webbing between her toes splayed-out behind her cute butt!

Ooh I didn't put thaat much effort into the reflection haha, I guess that's why. But definetly thanks for telling me, I'm sure I will draw something with a mirror again sometime, especially because a mirror is actually an important symbol I like to use for this OC. 
About the Mermaid Idea...hmmmm not sure about that, I like to stick with my original design which is human, obviously. But I already have a looot of things planned for next Halloween and most of the other holidays to come
