Description Not a lot to it, but I'm very proud of it nonetheless. Vex, the vixen, was animated frame-by-frame (she makes one complete cycle every 5 frames), whereas the background has had a motion tween applied to it. Vex's head and tail and feet (not legs, just feet) were cut and pasted from an image I drew of her a while back, and the rest of her body was created in flash. I started out with a simple wireframe animation I made based off of watching my cats chase each other around the house, and tweaked it until it seemed right. Next I added the head and tail over the wireframe, and more tweaking ensued to make sure that they matched the movement of the rest of the body.

Next, feet were added to the ends of the wireframe legs, and adjusted to show proper angles, weight support, etc. Once they seemed right, I made the legs over the wireframes and connected them to the feet. Making sure to follow the curve of the spine, I put in the line of the stomach. Finally, the chest ruff and color were added, and the whole thing underwent an extensive tweaking process.

The background has been carefully measured so that it moves according to Vex's stride, and I have done my best to make sure that it does not jump or strobe.

Anyway, like I said, my very first Flash animation ever, so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. I want to be a cartoon animator when I grow up, so it's important that I improve my work as much as possible.

Hey, that's awesome for a first animation! If you do need any tips, I'd suggest studying how real animals run (get a video on Youtube of them or something), and pause it every second or so, and observe closely how the body and legs move.

But a bloomin' awesome animation nonetheless!

Looks nice! The only thing that seems off to me are her hindlegs. They seem to be moving a little slower than her forelegs.

*is getting Flash soon, and can't wait to play with it*
