Description
She tumbles forward onto a carpeted floor, feeling the heavy weight of the bag on her back. She stands up and looks around. It's darker than night, the only source of light shining on her, making her the centre of attention in the room.

She hears whispers fly up and down the room and turns, her heart beating painfully in her chest. This was the First of her Eight Trials, then she could finally find him.

"So…she's finally here," a soft voice says, echoing in the large room. "We have been waiting a long time my dear. You are very nearly late."

"Stop stalling and get on with it!" someone barks out. The sound of it sends tingles of fear down her spine. "See if she has it. If she is the One."

"Very well," the soft voice says, sounding disappointed. Even though she can't see him, she senses him raising a hand. Out of nowhere, she hears a low, menacing growl, and she breaks out in a cold sweat. Memories of pain, hurt and suffering run through her mind, and she staggers for a moment.

The beast flies towards her, and without thinking, as though she's done it a million times before, reaches into thin air, pulling out a long, sharp sword, which shimmers in the dark room. She pushes up her sleeve to uncover her Mark, and in one, swift motion, swings the sword, cutting through her foe as though he was made of butter. It disintegrates into sand.

Silence.

"It is her!"

She can feel them closing around her, each trying to take a look at her Mark.

Another Gate appears.

"Go. But not all the Trials will be was easy as this."

She walks forward and steps into the Gate. One Trial closer to finding him.
