Some parts of this picture look kinda cool, like the fur texture, but I think it would look better if you started out with basic shapes before doing the outline. The right ear looks a little too big, and I don't know if the fox's neck is thick enough to support his head. That ear looks like it was tacked onto the head as well, while the left ear looks like it's too close to the forehead. Also, the shading doesn't look dark enough - there is very little contrast between the highlighted and shaded areas. Another thing, the dodge/burn tool is a very poor tool for highlighting and shading, as it makes the picture look flat. Try using different colours rather than lighter or darker versions of the base colour. It will make the picture look a lot better.

You're welcome! I sometimes do that with random people who respond to me and the like. It can be a good way to see into peoples' personalities a little. I find that people who either welcome or accept critiques, or just politely decline them are often nicer and more rational/mature than those who react defensively. When I get a positive response like yours, it kinda renews my faith in humanity each time. Besides that, every time someone accepts a critique and learns from it, the art quality on this site and the internet at large goes up a little.

Another thing, you haven't made me mad. In fact, nobody who responded in that rather heated thread has pissed me off at all. The only thing that pissed me off tonight was my Sims 3 crashing on me for the umpteebillionth time. Even with that, I'm pretty easygoing. There are people who have royally pissed me off and well, they did much worse. One that I am quite mad at even demanded that I stay up at all hours that she was up, even when I needed to go to class and stuff. Even when I needed sleep. Lotsa other crap... and she also betrayed me.

Being part German, I tend to be rather slow to real anger - much of the time when something displeases me(like Sims 3 crashing), I'm like, "Oh, bugger!" and then I either do something else or try again. It takes a lot to get me really furious. I'm also quite stubborn, so I will continue to argue in a thread like the one on Jewelycat's page until the others get tired and do something else. It can be a tad frustrating, however, to argue with people who think that using text/chat speak and calling one names like 'bitch' and 'fantard' is going to upset someone who has a lot of net experience. Excessive abbreviations, misspellings, and calling names (especially names like bitch etc. ) makes others think poorly of that person. If you speak/write well, people will have a better opinion of you.

But honestly, it's interesting how so many people will take the interbutt so seriously when they could just walk away.
