As someone of the title Commander, his high perception and intellectual abilities allow him to notice the strengths and weaknesses of teammates and enemies, allowing him to not only to plan against the enemy but also using everyone in his team’s full potential. Although he lacks experience and young, he has displayed than enough talent in the field of command, especially for a person of his age, to earn his title.

On first appearances, Kieran, to put it bluntly, seems to be an arrogant and sarcastic individual. His tendency to run his mouth out with witty and snarky lines is second nature to him, and he isn’t one to focus on being on friendly terms with others due to his guarded nature. Ruthlessly ambitious and dominating, Kieran, rather than relying upon mere formalities and superficiality, he is straight to the point, always focusing on the current situation at hand. Even though his ego and abrasive intimidation pushes others away from getting too close, his overall pragmatic attitude and genuine honesty for achieving his goals draws others to rely on him to find a plan and get things done.

Still, even though he can be unfriendly, it is not to say that Kieran is oblivious to emotions or friends, in fact, he is extremely perceptive and can be quick on the uptake. Although this can impact interactions with others negatively regarding hitting it where it hurts, he surprisingly takes advantage of it more positively by using it to read the current state of morale for his teammates as well as noticing tiny details others won’t notice. Nevertheless, as the still maturing teenager that he is, he can be somewhat stubborn and blunt about his own opinions on a topic. Also, due to his cynical opinion towards people, he tends to assume the worst of others and tends burden himself with most of the work if he can’t rely on someone.

Although he can be arrogant, his high intelligence is not just for show and displays this, not through his words, but through action. He is surprisingly self-conscious about that and his wit being the only thing that he has real pride for. Internally he secretly considers himself a bitter loser and severely underestimates himself and his abilities as a leader. Still, he shows up for the situation in desperate times, revealing to be calm and confident, being able to see solutions as quickly, manages to be the voice of reason in mass panic. He often himself roped into helping those who are weaker than him, surprisingly, very easily despite protests how much continues to express his false misanthropic viewpoint.

All in all, despite his negative attributes, Kieran genuinely is compassionate about the people he cares about and values them more than his own life. Even if he doesn’t admit it a whole lot.

[ S U M M A R Y ]

Raised by a mother who was an ex-lieutenant now Kendo martial artist in Hawaii, Kieran and older cousin was raised in quite a strict household. As his father worked overseas, Kieran was expected early on his childhood to watch over the younger students at the dojo, and take on responsibilities not many other children had to go through. However, thanks to that experience, he managed to become the young man he is today.

He was a quiet, polite but friendly child who often spent most of his free time watching his mother teach others martial arts, playing video games and talking to one of his neighbours, Anita, his sweetheart later in life. However, soon troubles began as soon as the father was found cheating and returned with a child. Legal issues arose. Through this period, Kieran became rather tired and irritable, continually having to deal with the disturbing presence of their manipulative father, which lead him to have lower self-esteem and distrust for most people around him besides the people closest to him.

During that time, Kieran withdrew socially and began focusing his interests on a constructive goal, not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Wanting to become a person who could protect his family and friend, while also earning his mother’s respect, Kieran decided to look into finding a career in the military. Already fascinated with military due to chess and tactical based video games, he found himself fascinated by his mother’s old occupation.

Still, it wasn’t until later on in his life that he became interested in becoming a leader. By middle school, things had calmed down in the Ishikawa household. Although he was somewhat of a geeky loner, he had started to attract a group of friends around him. Initially, his social circle was small: Harper, his next-door neighbour and vitriolic rival and best buddy; Anita, his first childhood best friend and obvious crush; Sophia, who was basically the entire group's little sister and every other person he happened to meet through them. However, over time, he began to open up again, and with the help of Anita mainly, was able to soften around others.

Slowly as the semester continued, people began to notice Kieran’s reliability and dominating presence, despite his initial geeky loner status. A class project? He was already on it, already prepared to assign roles and how to finish the project. Have to play soccer in Physical Ed? He had al at everyone assigned to him to gather around him and planned tactics involving all the team. Students misbehaving? He wouldn’t start a fight, but, depending on the student, give them a big lecture, plan a group meeting with teachers, or, the most straightforward option, stare at them with judgement. It was surprisingly useful, after all, he learned from his mom, the best there ever was.

Although he had tendencies to be somewhat abrasive, he was honest and rather kind and caring, despite Kieran’s refusal to admit it. He became an essential and reliable voice in his cohort and, when he started his attendance at Sovereign High School, his honesty, straightforwardness and passionate hatred for the dress code policies; it was only an inevitability that he was elected to student council, strengthening his abilities to command. Even with Harper now attending his school, the issues surrounding that came and went, and well, he was happy.

Of course, everything soon changed.

After participating in the school's Junior ROTC's program, through his combat abilities and high intellect and impressing military superiors, word soon reached Hope's Peak Academy. Soon enough, a letter arrived addressed to him and few others close to him.

Although he knew it was a great honour to attend Hope's Peak, he found himself hesitant, especially leaving the people he grew to care about behind, even with others who were coming along for the ride. He wasn't sure whether he was indeed worthy of his title. After all, he was only able to get this far with the support of his friends, in particular, Anita. However, he was in for a shock though when Anita organised a party for them to congratulate them, despite being left behind.

With that encouragement from Anita and his peers, Kieran and Harper departed. Of course, not before Kieran at the very last moment confessed his crush so he didn’t have any regrets, much to his instant regret and Harper's chagrin.

"I mean, I am glad you finally confessed Kieran, but why now? It's not like we are going to war or anything. We aren't going to die."

Well, at least he can now say that Harper was the one who had jinxed it.

However, due to his focus on military pursuits, these hobbies are simply too underdeveloped enough to be considered as talents. He still finds anyone who is adept interesting though, and will probably make a good conversation topic.
► Unfortunately, being dropped in a game of life and death will probably end in a result of him reverting to being on his total guard for the sake of survival. He isn’t one to place people in his trust easily, the people around him will have to earn it.

The complete and utter asshole who pushed everyone and their mother away from them. The asshole that pretended he didn't care to hide his insecurities. The asshole that was a complete and utter coward when it came to other people.

When Anita began speaking, Kieran dreaded for the worst and prepared to get utterly rejected. Honestly, that was the only outcome he could see happening after all. He was him, and Anita was her. She was completely and utterly perfect so how could...? Kieran closed his eyes and grimaced for those words to spill out of her mouth.

... Wait what did Anita just say?

"Huh?" Kieran's eyes widened in shock for a moment. Wait. What...? Hold on a second. What? No. I mean... Whaaaat? His brain short-circuited right then and there.

"WhatIcan'tbelieveyouactuallylikemeImeanIamtotalassholeandwhatishappeningIam...." Kieran rambled at light speed, completely and utterly stumped at the situation before him. It wasn't long before he blurted out those dumb corny words. "No! I could... never hate you. I... I love you, Anita!"
