This is Idea leuconoe, commonly known as the Paper Kite. It is a big and graceful butterfly that never seems to sit still but glides around slowly enough to entice the photographer to snap some pics. A tease, really!Taken at the Missouri Botanical Gardens Butterfly House, St. Louis, MO

I've heard it as Paper Kite, but a lot of butterflies have more than one common name. I prefer the scientific names, since those are the same the world over; that's why I try to always include the scientific name in the name or comment on a butterfly shot. Anyway, thanks for faving this shot!
