Description
This is a baby zebra tasting the dry season cuisine. As you can see, zebras are born with brown stripes; they will turn black as the zebra matures (by 9-18 months). I was hoping to get a good photo of this little guy’s face, but he/she was just not interested in looking my way. The few times it did turn toward us, the herd’s stallion stepped in between us and the foal. Zebra stallions are very protective of their mares and young, and he was doing his job well—I got lots of portraits of him, but no good ones of the baby. But, even from behind, this is quite a cutie!
